Security Siren Installation in Leicester
We supply and install PoE-powered security sirens across Leicester homes and businesses. Every siren is hardwired over Ethernet - no batteries to die, no wireless signal to jam, and no separate mains connection needed. The siren draws power and communicates over a single Cat5e or Cat6 cable, making it part of the same reliable network as your cameras and sensors.

What you get
Siren specification and placement
We assess your property and recommend indoor or outdoor siren positions based on where audible deterrence has the most impact - typically at the primary entry point or the most vulnerable elevation.
PoE-powered hardwired installation
The siren is cabled back to your PoE switch or NVR over a single Ethernet cable. No battery backup to fail, no wireless signal to interfere with, no mains wiring.
Trigger rule configuration
We configure which events activate the siren - entry sensor trips, motion detection, glass break alerts, or manual activation via the app. Rules are set to match your property and routine.
Integration with cameras and sensors
The siren sits on the same PoE network as your CCTV and sensors. A triggered siren can simultaneously start camera recording and send a push notification to your phone.
How it works
Assess
We identify the best siren position based on your property layout, entry points, and whether you need indoor coverage, outdoor coverage, or both.
Install
Siren mounted, cabled back to the PoE switch, and powered up. Cable routes kept clean through lofts, cavities, or external conduit.
Configure
Trigger rules set, volume and duration configured, and a live test carried out. You get a full walkthrough of how to arm, disarm, and manage the siren from your phone.
Why PoE sirens beat traditional alarm bells
Traditional alarm sirens run on mains power with a battery backup. The battery degrades over two to three years, the mains connection needs a qualified electrician, and the whole unit is a separate system from your cameras. PoE sirens eliminate all of that. One Ethernet cable delivers power and data. The siren communicates directly with your sensor network and CCTV recorder. There is no alarm panel in the hallway, no separate keypad, and no monthly monitoring contract.
Because the siren is on the same network as your cameras and sensors, trigger events are logged with timestamps and linked to camera footage. When the siren goes off, you can see exactly what caused it - not just that "the alarm triggered." If you are away from the property, a push notification tells you which sensor activated, the siren confirms it is responding, and your cameras give you live or recorded video of the event.
Indoor and outdoor siren placement
Outdoor sirens serve two purposes: they alert neighbours and passers-by, and they tell the intruder they have been detected. We mount external sirens at a height that makes them difficult to tamper with - typically under the eaves or at first-floor level - with the cable entry sealed against weather. Indoor sirens are designed to make the interior of the property unbearable for an intruder. A 110dB siren in a hallway is disorienting enough to make most people leave immediately.
Not every property needs both. A terraced house in Clarendon Park might benefit most from an external siren facing the street. A detached property in Oadby with a long driveway might need an internal siren because the external one would not be heard by neighbours. We recommend based on your property layout and what the siren is realistically going to achieve in each position.
Trigger rules and smart activation
A siren that goes off every time a cat crosses the garden is worse than useless - it trains everyone nearby to ignore it. We configure trigger rules so the siren only activates on events that warrant it. An entry sensor on the front door triggering at 2am while you are away activates the siren. The same sensor triggering at 6pm when you are walking in the door does not. Rules can be time-based, sensor-specific, or tied to arm/disarm states you control from your phone.
You can also set different responses for different sensors. A glass break sensor might trigger the siren immediately. A motion sensor in the garden might log the event and send a notification without sounding the alarm. The flexibility is in the configuration, and we set it up during installation so you are not left guessing how to programme it yourself.
Pairing sirens with entry sensors for layered security
A siren on its own is reactive. Paired with entry sensors on your doors and windows, it becomes part of a layered system that detects an intrusion at the point of entry and responds immediately. The entry sensor detects the breach, the system logs the event, the siren activates, your cameras start recording, and you receive a notification - all within seconds. This is the kind of coordinated response that a standalone alarm panel cannot deliver without expensive integration.
If you are considering entry sensors alongside your siren installation, our entry sensor installation covers how we pair them with entry sensors for full perimeter coverage. Every device runs on the same PoE network, so adding sensors to an existing siren installation is straightforward - it is just another cable and another device on the switch.

Pricing
Siren costs depend on indoor or outdoor placement, cable run length, and whether the siren is being added to an existing PoE network or installed as part of a new system. We provide a fixed quote after the site survey with no hidden charges.
Why Doberman
PoE powered, zero batteries
The siren runs on Power over Ethernet. No battery degradation, no wireless jamming, no mains wiring. One cable for power and data.
Linked to cameras and sensors
Siren events are logged with timestamps and linked to camera footage. You see what triggered the alarm, not just that it went off.
Configurable trigger rules
The siren activates on events that matter - not every motion event in the garden. Rules are set during installation and adjustable from your phone.
No alarm panel or monitoring contract
The siren is managed through the same app as your cameras and sensors. No separate alarm system, no keypad, no monthly fees.

Frequently asked questions
- Does the siren need mains power?
- No. The siren is powered entirely over Ethernet via a PoE switch. One cable provides both power and network connectivity. There is no mains wiring and no battery to maintain.
- How loud is the siren?
- The sirens we install produce up to 110dB, which is loud enough to be heard clearly from outside a property and uncomfortable enough indoors to make an intruder want to leave immediately. Volume is configurable during setup.
- Can I control the siren from my phone?
- Yes. You can arm, disarm, and test the siren from the management app. You also receive push notifications when the siren activates, along with details of which sensor triggered it.
- Will the siren work if my internet goes down?
- Yes. The siren operates on your local PoE network. If the internet drops, the siren still responds to sensor triggers and the system continues logging events locally. You just will not receive remote push notifications until connectivity is restored.
- Can I add a siren to my existing Doberman CCTV system?
- Yes, provided there are available PoE ports on your switch or NVR, or we can add a switch to expand capacity. The siren integrates with the same network and management interface.
- What triggers the siren?
- Trigger rules are fully configurable. The siren can be activated by entry sensors, motion detectors, glass break sensors, or manually from the app. We set the rules during installation based on your preferences and property layout.
