Areas We Cover

Doberman is based in Leicester and covers the city and all of Leicestershire. We design, install, and maintain hardwired PoE CCTV systems for homes and businesses across the region. Every area has different property types, different security concerns, and different practical challenges for cable routing and camera placement - this page explains how we handle each.

Leicester

Leicester is our home and where we do the majority of our work. We know the city’s building stock from the inside - literally. Clarendon Park terraces have solid Victorian brickwork with lime mortar that needs masonry fixings, not the plastic plugs that pull out within a year. Hamilton new‑builds use lightweight block that’s quick to drill but needs different anchors for heavy cameras. Stoneygate and Knighton properties with south‑facing frontages get hit by low winter sun between 2pm and 4pm, so we spec wide dynamic range cameras in those positions as standard.

We’ve installed in Victorian terraces off Narborough Road where the only cable route runs through a shared loft space, 1930s semis in Knighton with cavity walls packed with rubble that make internal routing unpredictable, modern apartments near Highcross where building management rules restrict external mounting, and new‑builds on Hamilton where the plasterboard partitions mean we plan NVR placement around load‑bearing walls. Each property type has its quirks, and we plan for them during the site survey rather than discovering them mid‑install.

Property types we regularly install in

Victorian and Edwardian terraces (solid brick, often shared loft access), inter‑war semis (cavity walls, variable internal routing), modern apartments (building regs, limited external fixing points), new‑build estates (lightweight block, accessible loft voids), HMOs (communal entrance coverage, landlord requirements), retail units (shutter lines, signage obstructions), offices, and industrial premises (long perimeters, lens selection critical). Each requires a different approach to cable routing, camera placement, and NVR location - we plan for all of this during the site survey.

See our home CCTV installation and business CCTV installation pages for details on what we offer.

Leicestershire towns

We cover the major towns across Leicestershire. Travel time from our Leicester base is typically 20-40 minutes depending on the town, which we account for in scheduling. The site survey and installation process is identical to our Leicester work - same equipment, same standards, same person from survey to handover.

CCTV Installation Loughborough

Student HMOs near the university often need cameras covering shared entrances and cycle stores. Family homes on the Outwoods side tend to have longer driveways that need careful lens selection.

CCTV Installation Hinckley

Town centre retail units along Castle Street and the Crescent typically need cameras above shutter lines. Residential work across Hinckley and Burbage is mostly 1950s-70s semis with accessible loft spaces for NVR placement.

Learn more

CCTV Installation Market Harborough

Larger detached properties with longer perimeters and rural surrounds. These installs often need more cameras and longer cable runs than a typical Leicester job, which we factor into the survey.

Area not listed?

If your area isn’t listed, ask. If you’re within Leicestershire, we almost certainly cover it. The only constraint is travel time - we don’t take on jobs where the distance would make follow‑up visits or night commissioning impractical. For most of the county, that’s not an issue.

Why we stay local

We limit our coverage area deliberately. A CCTV installation isn’t a single visit - it’s a survey, an install day, a night commissioning return, and potentially follow‑up adjustments. That’s three to four visits minimum. If we were travelling 90 minutes each way, the cost and scheduling would make that impractical, and corners would get cut. By staying within Leicestershire, we can return the same evening for night commissioning rather than booking it as a separate trip days later.

Local coverage also means faster support after installation. If something needs adjusting - a camera angle tweaked after you rearrange your garden, or a new detection zone added - we can usually fit it in within a few days rather than weeks. We know the roads, the parking, and the access points for most areas we work in, which means less wasted time on install day.

If you’re outside Leicestershire, we’d recommend finding a local installer who can offer the same level of follow‑up. Our blog guides can help you evaluate whoever you choose.

What we offer across all areas

Every installation uses the same equipment and follows the same process, regardless of location: a site survey to design the system, hardwired PoE cameras (no Wi‑Fi), a local NVR for on‑site recording, night commissioning to verify footage quality after dark, and no monthly subscriptions. The only thing that changes between areas is the property itself.
